Below highway 13 and Montclair and to the south of Park Boulevard runs a serious of neighborhoods along the hillsides. Oakmore is the first of these neighborhoods and can best be accessed off Leimert Boulevard from Park Boulevard. You cross the Landmark Leimert bridge and there is a little downtown area (not much there, but it gives you the illusion of a little town nontheless). This is a very quiet neighborhood with attractive charming homes built from the late 1920's to 1950's. This neighborhood runs just above the highly desired neighborhood of Glenview and partly above Diamond.

As you continue south and cross Lincoln above Diamond and the Laurel begins a little area called Lincoln Heights. This too is a quiet neighborhood with more homes built from the 30's to the 50's.  This lies just below the landmark Morman Temple where clearly around Christmas time they aren't worried about global warming with a most spectacular decoration and light display. There are many homes with amazing bay, downtown Oakland and San Francisco, and bridge views.  With the continued development of the fruitvale shopping area just a short distance away including a new Farmer Joes (alternative to Whole Foods) and Peets Coffee, this little neighborhood can only get better as time goes on. People walk a lot in this neighborhood with their dogs and kids and are generally very friendly.

Further to the south is the neighborhood called Redwood Heights. This area is on either side of 35 Avenue which turns into Redwood Heights Road as you go up the hill.  Well known for it's highly desired elementary school, Redwood Heights is just above the Laurel Neighborhood and is more organized with a neighborhood association and recreation center than Lincoln Heights. The home stock is again a mix of 1920's to 1950's with a few more Mediterranean style houses.
